SOS SAGA comic

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 16, 2013, 7:08 PM

Scions of the Seraph (SOS SAGA) started off as a short story when I was in high school and has expanded into a world of its own as the years passed. Back in 2007, I wanted to make my story into a web comic. Unfortunately, I could no longer draw since my hands refused to hold a pencil long enough to get anything done. So I came to the conclusion to hire artists to work alongside me. Artists come and go and even the comic had to shut down for a period of time due to funding and health reasons.

August 2012, the comic went through a reboot and started back at 'Day 1' with a new artist. Recently, she had to take a break due to schooling which is very understandable. Thus I had to find a new artist to keep the comic going. Now I have another great artist working with me to finish this project, but the funding of the project is going to take more than I can afford. Therefore, I need some help!

It's hard to say what genre the comic falls under since there are many different aspects to look at, but I simply call it a 'modern-day fantasy/paranormal drama'. The story takes place in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia (my hometown) about a young girl who seems to have really bad luck. Family members are either constantly disappearing or winding up dead. She discovers on her sixteenth birthday that her parents have been murdered. From there, she is thrust into a new lifestyle filled with demons and angels.

Ages long forgotten, the celestial Goddess Alitheea felt betrayed by the creatures she had birthed and released devastating curses upon the worlds. Thus all trembled in fear...

Hundreds of years since, and the worlds had yet seen a conclusion to the Goddess' calamities. Some sought to free themselves from the deity, some sought to dominate those weaker than them, and others simply wished to be left alone.

The Seraph, the disinclined and untrained heroine, is given the daunting task of figuring out what had happened in the past that had set the stage for the upcoming era. Unable to comprehend her new life, she is constantly diminishing into anguish and hardship.

With the protection of the Scions, the Seraph must fight to save the worlds, the persons she loves, and herself. So much for one teenage girl to do...

Contains some mature scenes, foul language, and religious aspects.

That's me! Looking back on how and when I came to the conclusion that I wanted to be writer, I find myself in my fifth grade year of school and being taught 'Creative Writing'. From that point, I loved telling farfetched stories to my parents and teachers.

In high school, that's when I really started focusing on writing and coming up with more fascinating ideas. Was then that one of my teachers told me that the best thing to write about is what you know. So I did just that and wrote about my hometown and the various experiences I had had over the years. Then SOS SAGA was born…

There have been many artists who have worked on the SOS SAGA. project over the years. Here's a look at all those who can be found here on DeviantART.
